An Interview with the Makers of Pleasure Wipes

Wash That Man Right Out of Your Hair!

An Interview with the Makers of Pleasure Wipes
by Tamar Love

How many times have you finished making love, reached for a tissue, and found the box empty? Or worse yet, ruined a perfectly good towel, T-shirt or sock? Be honest... it happens to everyone! While some people have resolved this sticky situation with baby wipes or moistened towelettes, neither is a really practical solution: baby wipes leave a strange residue and most moist towelettes are just too small to be effective.

Realizing the world needed a better cleaning product, Greg Cox and Steve Wasserman, founders of GS Wipes, created Pleasure Wipes, the perfect cleanup tool for almost all forms of love play. Available in two scents, Vanilla and Mango, Pleasure Wipes are large moistened towels saturated with a gentle -- yet effective -- cleanser that removes lubricant and fluids from your most sensitive parts. Designed for partner sex or solo play, Pleasure Wipes are discreetly packaged in a generously sized container perfect for everyone's nightstand. Say goodbye to ruined linens, wads of tissue, and scrambling to the bathroom... Pleasure Wipes are here to stay!

We recently spoke to Greg Cox, one of Pleasure Wipes' creators, about his company's products, his and Steve's motivation for cleaning up the world, and their take on the sex toy phenomenon:

MyPleasure will soon be carrying one of your products, Pleasure Wipes. Can you tell us a little bit about this product? How did GS Wipes come to develop it?

Steven and I were eating lunch one day. When we got our meal, the waitress also handed us each a hand wipe. I said, "Why hasn't anyone made these for after lovemaking? Baby wipes smell nasty." Light bulbs lit up and Pleasure Wipes were born!

It's our understanding that both men and women will enjoy using Pleasure Wipes. Who would you consider to be your primary market?

When we asked friends to test-market the product, the women loved it. They were the biggest initial respondents in terms of convenience and fragrance choices. The guys were a little hesitant at first, but quickly got hooked once they realized they didn't have to ruin any more towels.

Pleasure Wipes
come in two scents: Mango and Vanilla. Why those two? Is one designed to appeal to men, and the other to women? Do you have any other "flavors" in the works?

Mango and Vanilla were really hot new scents with other consumer products, so we wanted Pleasure Wipes to reflect that trend. Initially, we thought vanilla for the guys, mango for the girls, but after the initial testing, both groups were split pretty evenly. It's just a matter of preference. We get asked a lot about "flavored" and edible wipes, too, so those are in the works.

GS Wipes manufacturers a few other similar products, as well. Do you plan on adding to your product line?

Glad you asked! Our latest baby is called "Dr. Tanner's Leather Cleaner & Conditioner Wipes." I got the idea at one of the trade shows, where I saw a lot of leather clothing, sling and toy vendors, yet no cleaning product marketed specifically for these items. ARMOR ALLTM and the like leave a greasy residue, so I knew our product would serve people well. I specifically wanted a cleaning wipe that would also leave a shine without any gooey, sticky residue. Ta da! After several attempts in the laboratory we pulled it off without adding alcohol or silicone, a first in the industry

Are Pleasure Wipes safe to use with sex toys? Should our customers take any special precautions?

Our wipes do not "disinfect;" if they did, they couldn't be used on people due to the harsh chemicals needed. Our wipes are very gentle and will clean water-based lubes and body fluids off of you in a flash. To get your toys clean enough for shared or repeated use, make sure to wash them in antibacterial soap and hot water, or a product specifically made for cleaning toys.

Speaking of sex toys, what's your take on using them?

When in doubt, whip 'em out...

Have you noticed that it's becoming "acceptable" to discuss and purchase sex toys? What do you think about this trend -- are sex toys here to stay?

Whoa, yeah! When I told my folks about my new wipes they were very happy. They told me some things that made me blush a deep shade of purple, then demanded samples! I think it's really healthy to discuss personal preferences -- after all, that's how we get our needs met. Sex toys are simply a tool for people to "self" explore, as well as to spice up their relationships.

What sex toy *needs* to be invented?

Will my mom be reading this???

Sorry, Greg -- we wouldn't want you to turn an even deeper shade of purple!
